Turlock Mayor Amy Bublak presented certificates on Tuesday to Pitman wrestling coaches Adam, Matt and Cody Vasconcellos recognizing their winningest season to date and their continued commitment to the youth of Turlock through competitive sports.
The Vasconcellos brothers have been coaching wrestling at Pitman since 2008, with Adam serving as head coach, and the 2026 season added several historic accomplishments to the program’s legacy:
- Boys captured their 7th consecutive league title;
- Girls captured their 3rd consecutive league title;
- Mason Ontiveros is ranked among the top 5 wrestlers in the United States;
- Program record of 25 wrestlers advancing to Masters;
- Program record of 14 state qualifiers this season;
- Four state placers: Mason Ontiveros, Carter Vannest, EJ Sheeran and Lily Dixon; and

The recognition highlighted not only the success of the program on the mat, but also the lasting impact the coaches continue to make in the lives of young athletes throughout the Turlock community.
