Pitman High’s boys soccer team is currently ranked sixth in the state, according to maxpreps.com, after handling  Central California Conference rivals Golden Valley, 2-1, on Wednesday.

After an intense defensive match in the first half, the Pride and Cougars excited those who watched as all three goals came in crazy second half.

Fernando Maldonado and Grant Tallent came away with a goal each. Jesus Nunez’ assist helped a team that now holds a 9-1-3 record after Wednesday’s victory. They host Buhach Colony for a CCC matchup on Monday. Pitman will encounter a Thunder squad coming off a 2-0 league win over Merced as the Thunder record now stands at 10-1.
