Turlock golf comes away with first place finish

Turlock High took 1st place at the Central California Conference Mid-Season 18-hole tournament that was held at Pheasant Run in Chowchilla, as they shot 460 as a team, Merced placed second (461) and Pitman in third (493).

Leading the way with a score of 84 was Bergen Benedict of Turlock. Benedict, along with Pitman's Taylor Beckwith, both tied for 2nd place.

Turlock junior Sarah Garcia  shot an 88 while Lyndee Sutton shot an 89, and Brooke Vierra shot a solid 96 to help the ‘Dogs win and move into a tie with Merced for first place in the CCC. Natanya Fernandez from Merced placed first for the tourney after shooting an 82.

Turlock’s next contest will be on Thursday as they square off against Merced at TGCC with a 3 p.m. starting time.
