In a game filled with highlights, Turlock High junior Kevin Kramer managed to make his mark.
On Monday, he competed in USA Baseball as he was part of the Red Team that won 6-4 over the Blue Team at Goodwin Field on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. He finished the day going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored to lead his team at the plate.
Kramer, who was the starting shortstop last season for the Bulldogs, is competing for a spot on the USA Baseball 16U National Team. After the Red Team jumped out to a 1-0 lead, Kramer, who was playing second base, helped with an RBI-single up the middle — which was just the beginning of a productive day.
The Red Team went 7 1/3 innings with a no-hitter.
Game 2 of the trails took place late Tuesday night. The U.S. started training Sunday morning with various offensive and defensive workouts throughout the day.
