Turlock golf handles El Capitan to remain unbeaten in CCC

Turlock High girls’ golf toppled El Capitan at home on Tuesday in a 243-289 win.

“Gals played well today. We had to shuffle the line-up due to Sarah Musselman being sick. Brooke Adams wasn’t feeling well either, but she toughed it out for the team,” said Turlock head coach Mary Krupka.

Turlock’s Courtney Malmberg finished the day with the lowest round of all with a 45. Preeth Singh of Turlock followed with a 47 and Ainslie Coughran finished with a 48. Adams shot a 51 and Annika Lightfoot shot a 52.

“Courtney, Preeth and Ainslie did a good job of winning the battle between El Cap’s players,” said Krupka. “Annika Lightfoot really steadied her game with excellent focus and a positive attitude toward all in her group. She was a very good teammate and competitor.”

Turlock is still undefeated at 8-0 with a mid-season tournament victory as well said Krupka.
