Turlock’s Orlando Zamora competed at the 2018 Central California Association LBC 46 USA Boxing Junior Olympics April 21 and 22, which took place at Oakdale High School. Zamora, who competes in the 12-year-old, 75-pound open division fared well. It was in the final against Juan Guillen that earned Zamora his gold medal after he won via unanimous decision giving Guillen an eight-count in the first and second rounds. Zamora is currently 4-1 and is coached by Jeff Tovar, Marcos Padilla and Jesus Haro. He trains three days a week in Fresno and two days a week in Merced. Zamora attends Medeiros Elementary School.
