The weather conditions were terrible on Sunday with rain falling by the bucket loads, but three Turlockers overcame the elements and emerged victorious in this year’s Punt Pass and Kick competition in Oakland. Hilton Green, Mya Sanchez, and Ruby Randhawa each earned first place honors in their individual age groups with respective totals of 155 feet, 10 inches, 158 feet, 6 inches, and 185 feet, 2 inches.

Green and Hernandez qualified for the competition through Walnut Elementary and Sanchez qualified through Medeiros Elementary.

Green completed a 53 foot punt, a 53-foot-2-inch pass, and a 49-foot-8-inch kick in the boys 6-7 age bracket in his first PPK Team Championship appearance. Randhawa, who finished 2nd in last year’s Team Championship, earned her first place ball b a 62-foot-3-inch punt, a 71-foot-5-inch pass, and a 51-foot-6-inch kick in the girls 10-11 age bracket. Sanchez won her second consecutive Team Championship with a 52-foot-1-inch punt, a 48-foot-8-inch pass, and a 58-foot-1-inch kick in the girls 8-9 age bracket.
