The girls of the Turlock FC Stingers U12 team won their first league title last Sunday with their first place finish in the NorCal Fall League after defeating Merced Atlas.

The Stingers—who began as a U10 recreation team with the Turlock Youth Soccer Association before transitioning into a competitive travel team in 2013—have dominated their competition at the Silver Level this season, outscoring their opponents 31-5. The girls have also won four tournaments this season, which has spurred the decision to move up to the more competitive Gold Level next season.

The team—Emily Alvarez, Audra Beck, Juliana Beck, Morgan Blankenship, Emma Borrelli, Sidney Cantwell, Genesis Maciel, Lizbeth Magana, Digna Marquez, Landyn Mills, Brooke Rose, Ary Sobrevilla, Rebecca Sobrevilla and Elizette Ysais—have developed their soccer skills over the past two years with the ultimate goal of competing at the Premiere Level by the time they become a U14 team.
