With Round Robin completed last weekend in Oakdale, both the Turlock Vikings and Turlock 49ers have a better understanding of the necessary changes needed for their teams to start the 2013 season. 

Round Robin is the first time each year that teams go head to head to see what type of talent they have for the season. This year the two Turlock teams traveled to Oakdale and scrimmaged against each other, as well as other local youth teams, the Manteca Buffalos, Manteca Jaguars and the Oakdale Stampede.  Turlock Youth Football has been a feeder program for the local high schools for 29 years.  Many Turlock Youth Football players grow up within the family-oriented program and some of them end up playing high school football with the peers they have been playing with for years.  The TYF program is a great foundation for youth football; a few names of previous players include San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, former Denver Broncos quarterback Tom Brandstater, and professional baseball player Tom Mendonca. 

Turlock Vikings will be hosting the Manteca Jaguars on Saturday as the Turlock 49ers travel to Ceres to take on the Seahawks.  The games are played at Joe Debely Stadium at Turlock High School. Tri-tip sandwiches and nachos will be available for sale.
