Week 6 saw the Turlock Youth Football Vikings travel to Livingston to take on the Wolf Pack, but the Wolves, once again, were dominated by a Turlock team, and shut out at all levels.

The Vikings showed no mercy with Pee Wee winning 40-0; JV winning 32-0; and Varsity giving the worst defeat all year with a 60-0 victory.

Next week the Vikings will be at home hosting the Ceres Seahawks with game times at 2 p.m. for Rookies, 3:30 p.m. for Pee Wees, 5:30 p.m. for JV and 7:30 p.m. for Varsity.

The 49ers hosted the Manteca Jaguars in Week 6 and, unfortunately, had mixed outcomes.  The Pee Wee team lost 6-14, but JV was able to defeat the Jaguars 14-6.  Varsity lost by two with a final score of 30-28.   Next week the 49ers will be hosting a home game with the Los Banos Wildcats visiting for early morning games.  Pee Wee will start first at 8 a.m.,  JV at 10 a.m., Varsity at 12 p.m. and Rookies at 2 p.m.

This week’s feature is giving credit to TYF cheer squads. Turlock Youth Cheer has been on the side lines for every game cheering on football teams no matter if they are winning or losing. TYC has cheer squads at all levels, including the Rookies similar to football. Children can start cheering at young age and grow up within the program.  These cheerleaders perform difficult stunts and provide an awesome half time show for the fans of both TYF and TYC.  Some say cheerleading isn’t a sport; however, some of these cheerleaders are also on competition teams that compete in JAMZ and USA events around the area.  They practice five days a week working on difficult routines and  have won several national championships.  TYF thanks the TYC program and cheerleaders for supporting their organization.
