Vacant Turlock home goes up in flames

A vacant home in Turlock was left in rubble and ashes after a fire ignited Monday morning.

The size of the blaze necessitated all Turlock Fire Department engines as well as mutual aid from neighboring agencies.

The fire was located at a vacant home at the corner of N. Walnut Road and W. Monte Vista Avenue.

The first fire crews were dispatched to the scene at 6:56 a.m. Monday. They found the home fully engulfed in flames and additional resources were dispatched to the scene.

The fire was brought under control after approximately 30 minutes. Crews remained on scene for an extended period of time conducting overhaul. 

The cause of the fire and the point of origin is being investigated.

The fire did not threaten any other structures. No injuries were reported.
