‘Grease’ is the word at Sierra Rep
grease
Dionna Eshelman, Emily Rose Lyons and Alison Bagli star in Sierra Rep’s production of “Grease.”

Get out your leather jackets and pull on your bobby socks with Rydell High’s senior class of 1959. Sierra Rep invites you to celebrate the beginning of this holiday season with “Grease,” the musical. “Grease” follows love-struck bad-boy Danny and girl-next-door Sandy in a thrilling injection of pure fun with astounding dancing and amazing songs. It’s the beloved rock n’ roll celebration of teen angst, fast cars, and first loves all set in the fabulous fifties.

This all-new production is on stage at the Historic Fallon House Theatre in Columbia State Park Oct. 25 through Dec. 15 and features the irresistible songs from the Tony Award nominated Broadway show and hit movie, including “You’re The One That I Want,” “Grease Is the Word,” “Summer Nights,” “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “Greased Lightnin'” and many more.

The production stars Kyle Thomas Mangold as Danny, Alison Bagli as Sandy. The Pink Ladies are Dionna Eshelman (from SRT’s “A Christmas Story”) as Frenchy, Emily Rose Lyons as Rizzo, Liz Erardi as Jan, and Julia Adams as Marty. The Burger Palace Boys are Nick Abbott as Kenickie, Stephen Markarian (from SRT’s “Route 66”) as Doody, Jonathan Chisholm as Roger, and Tanner Scot as Sonny. Barbara Camara as Cha Cha, Kyle Moses (from SRT’s “Holiday Jukebox”) as Eugene, Shannon Gerrity (from SRT’s “Mamma Mia!”) as Patty Simcox, Betsy Moore (from SRT’s “Ripcord”) as Ms. Lynch, Andrew Tebo as Vince Fontaine and Teen Angel. The production underwriter for “Grease” is Blue Mountain Minerals.

Director-choreographer for “Grease” is Adam Estes who helmed SRT’s hit production of “Route 66” earlier this year and won SRT audiences over with his hilarious performance as Miss Texas in last year’s “Pageant.” The creative team for Grease includes Scott Michaelsen (music director), Anna Owen and Diana Newington (co-costume designers), Joe C. Klug (scenic designer), Josh Hemmo (lighting designer), Henry Flores (properties designer), and Maggie Braun (production stage manager).

Performance times are at 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays and 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Ticket prices range from $32 to $47. Discounts for seniors, veterans (w/ID), children, and students (18 and over with student ID) are available for all performances. Special discounts for groups of 20 or more are also available. “Grease” is Rated PG-13 for mature themes (though the theatre does consider this production to be family friendly). There will be no public performance on Nov. 1.
