Turlock Concert Association brings in Sixth Floor Trio

The Sixth Floor Trio will perform at the Turlock Community Theatre Tuesday.

The Turlock Concert Association is bringing the Sixth Floor trio to town for a show on Tuesday.

The Sixth Floor Trio performs works by Handel, Brahms and Bartok live side-by-side in a musical soup with rock, jazz, klezmer and ragtime.

Members Teddy Abrams (piano/clarinet), Harrison Hollingsworth (bassoon, violin) and Johnny Teyssier (clarinet) all graduated from the world-renowned Curtis Institute of Music.

The Sixth Floor Trio is a resident partner in the national “Random Acts of Culture” program, sponsored by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. 

The show is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Turlock Community Theatre. Tickets are $25 and $15 for students. To purchase tickets call Linda Posegate at 668-1456 or Eric Julien 667-5874 or visit www.turlockconcert.org.

Showcase exhibit opens at Carnegie

From more than 200 entries, jurors have selected 84 works that will be on display in the annual Carnegie Art Showcase exhibition taking place this summer at the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock. The juried exhibition is a celebration of artistic excellence. The show opened Wednesday and will be on view in the CAC’s Ferrari Gallery until Sept. 5.
