Volunteers needed at the Carnegie

The Carnegie Arts Center is seeking volunteers to work in a variety of roles.

Each year the volunteers at the Carnegie greet more than 5,000 visitors and docents provide tours for 3,000 school children. Events staffed by volunteers also include lectures, poetry, music, dance, theater, films, and family programs.

As a private, non-profit organization, the Carnegie Arts Center Foundation relies on volunteers for essential help in every aspect of operating the Carnegie.

Becoming a volunteer at the Carnegie starts with a one-hour Volunteer Orientation at 10 a.m. on Saturday or Saturday. There will be additional training for specific areas of interest at a later date. Docent classes begin Aug. 12 for anyone interested in leading gallery tours or school field trips.

Volunteer forms will be available at the orientation.
