Assault with car lands woman in jail

A 45-year-old woman was arrested Monday on allegations she intentionally swerved the vehicle she was driving in an attempt to hit a man crossing the street.

Christina Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of stolen property, the Turlock Police Department reported.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Monday the police department received a report stating a woman had just narrowly missed hitting a man with the vehicle she was driving in the 3800 block of Crowell Road. The caller stated the woman swerved in the man’s direction.

Based on the description provided, police located the suspect, later identified as Gonzalez, and she was positively identified by the man, according to the police report.

The victim was not hit, but did sustain a non-life threatening injury, according to the police department.

The vehicle Gonzalez was driving had been reported stolen out of San Jose.
