Attack leads to assault charges for Turlock man

A Turlock man was arrested for assault after an unprovoked attack against two men, one of whom had to be hospitalized, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Paulo Pacheco, 42, was arrested on suspicion of felony battery and assault with a deadly weapon for the incident that occurred on April 23.

The police department was dispatched to a report of a physical altercation at the site of the former Almond Tree Restaurant at 2243 Lander Ave. shortly before 4 p.m. April 23.

According to the police report, Pacheco used his fists, feet and a cable to assault the two men and continued to kick one of the victims in the head even after the victim had lost consciousness.

One victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries, said Turlock Police spokesperson Sgt. Neil Cervenka.

The victims did not know Pacheco. It’s unknown at this time what prompted the fight.
