A man and woman identified as the prime suspects in a Sunnyvale burglary were arrested Tuesday morning in Turlock by a California Highway Patrol officer.

Fernando Ricardo Angeles, 34, and Carrisa Barreto, 36, both of Sunnyvale had been identified as the suspects in a home burglary from the video surveillance system the home owners had installed.

The burglary occurred on Friday in Sunnyvale and the video surveillance system captured images of the suspects rummaging through the home before stealing some items and fleeing, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Investigators identified the couple as the likely burglars through their mug shots from earlier arrests.

Arrest warrants were issued for the pair for parole violations.

The CHP officer discovered the two in a parked car. When the license plate number was checked, it revealed the warrants for Barreto and Angeles. Both were taken into custody for the parole violations. Angeles also was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Stanislaus County Jail.
