A Hughson woman was severely injured in a crash Monday night involving a tractor-trailer.

Janna Madsensawicki, 58, was rushed to Doctors Medical Center with major injuries following the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol. Her current condition is unknown.

The collision occurred around 8:40 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Geer and Keyes roads, just south of Hughson.

Brandon Wells, 31, of Atwater was driving a 2006 Kenworth tractor-trailer eastbound on Keyes Road. Wells was proceeding to make a left turn onto northbound Geer on a green light.

The CHP stated Madsensawicki, who was driving a 1997 Toyota vehicle northbound on Geer, ran the red light and drove the Toyota directly into the right side of the big-rig.

The impact lodged the Toyota underneath the big-rig, according to the CHP.

Wells was not injured in the crash.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a contributing factor in the collision, which remains under investigation.
