The Turlock Police Department’s search for a reported dangerous driver came to an end when they found the driver and his vehicle crashed into a parked car.

The driver, identified as Edwin Escalante, 25, was arrested for felony driving under the influence. He had a preliminary blood alcohol level of .22, which is more than twice the legal limit for driving.

Around 12:46 a.m. Sunday the police department received a report of a dangerous driver. The caller said the driver had taken the W. Main Street exit off of Highway 99 and was headed into town.

Just as officers were starting to check the area a report came in of a vehicle that had just crashed into a parked car at Main Street and Grant Avenue.

Escalante’s male passenger sustained minor injuries in the crash.
