Drunk driving, speed led to collision off highway

A San Francisco man was arrested Sunday afternoon following an alleged drunk driving accident Sunday afternoon.

James Ward, 39, of San Francisco was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injuries, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Ward was driving on southbound Highway 99 around 2:49 p.m. Sunday when he took the off-ramp at W. Monte Vista Avenue at too high of a speed, according to the police report.

Ward's vehicle drove through some shrubbery before it collided with another vehicle.

The other driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Ward was given a field sobriety test and then arrested.
