Detectives are investigating a murder that occurred early Thursday morning in Turlock.
The Turlock Police Department said the investigation is in the early stages and few details about the incident were available at this time.
The police department received a call reporting a shooting in the area of Lander and W. Glenwood avenues around 4:45 a.m. Thursday.
The first officers to arrive found a middle-aged man dead from an apparent gunshot wound, said Turlock Police spokesperson Lt. Neil Cervenka.
This is an active investigation with limited details. Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. Updates will be forthcoming.
