A Turlock man was charged with assault for hitting a woman with a glass.

The incident occurred at Nagina Palace at 1142 W. Main St. at 7:44 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the Turlock Police Department, Mandeep Singh, 22, struck the woman on the head with a glass cup, causing her to sustain minor injuries that required treatment at a hospital.

The suspect was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
