Gunshots in downtown Turlock lead to two arrests

Two men were apprehended early Saturday morning after firing off several rounds in the downtown area, the Turlock Police Department reported.

No injuries were reported from the shooting.

Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday the police department dispatched officers to the area of W. Main Street and Broadway after getting reports of shots fired in the area. The report said the suspects were in a gray Suburban. they fired several shots, then fled the area.

Officers searched the immediate area, but were not able to locate the vehicle or the suspects.

Later, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description. It was being driven recklessly and a traffic stop was conducted, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley.

The driver, Eshan Bowers, 28, had a misdemeanor warrant out of Tuolumne County and was taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle turned up two firearms, Parmley said.

A passenger in the vehicle, Shannon McDow, 29, was arrested and later booked for negligent discharge of a firearm and possession of a concealable firearm.

Bowers was booked for the warrant and possession of a concealable firearm.
