As detectives continue to investigate the fatal shooting of Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputy Dennis Wallace, they are seeking the public’s help in filling in the timeline of Wallace’s suspected killed, David Machado.
Wallace, 53, was killed by an armed suspect Sunday morning at the Fox Grove fishing access after going to check on a suspicious vehicle. He was found with two gunshot wounds to the head, according to the sheriff’s department.
Machado, 36, was identified early on as the suspected killer and was apprehended around 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Tulare County.
Detectives are working on establishing a timeline of everywhere Machado may have been before and after the shooting at the Fox Grove Fishing Access near Hughson. A carjacking that happened in Keyes shortly after the shooting Sunday morning has been attributed to Machado. He was arrested in Tulare County after attempting to forcibly take a woman’s purse.
Detectives also want to speak to anyone who has had prior contacts or any incidents with Machado.
Anyone who believes they may have seen David Machado at any time yesterday, or had dealings with him in the past, is asked to contact Sheriff’s Detective Josh Sandoval at 209-525-7073.
