Within a three hour time span a Turlock man was arrested twice, the second time for an attempted robbery, according to the Turlock Police Department.
The attempted robbery was reported around 7 p.m. Saturday at the Travelodge at 201 W. Glenwood Avenue.
According to the police report, Christopher Labuga, 23, had come into the motel to rent a room and provided his old Merced County inmate card as identification. At some point Labuga decided he would rather rob than rent.
He pulled out an Airsoft pistol and demanded money from the clerk, according to the police report.
Before the clerk could comply, another customer came into the office, which police say spooked Labuga and sent him running.
The entire incident was caught on security cameras and Labuga was found at a gas station next door. He was booked for attempted robbery.
His arrest was his second foray with the police on Saturday. Earlier around 4:30 p.m. he was arrested and cited out in the 500 block of Clover Drive for possession of a crank pipe, according to the police report.
