A woman not only stole a man’s car after pepper spraying him in the face, but also stole his dog, said the Turlock Police Department.

The suspect has been identified and a warrant has been issued for her arrest, but at this time the police department is not releasing her name or photo.

The victim had been sleeping in his vehicle in the 100 block of D Street, when shortly after midnight Thursday he was awoken by a woman who shot him in the face with pepper spray.

The man jumped out of the vehicle, which was when the woman got into it and drove away, with the man’s dog in the backseat.

The woman was known to the man and he was able to identify her out of a photo line-up, said Turlock Police spokesperson Sgt. Russ Holeman.

The vehicle was found abandoned a few hours later in a parking lot off of S. First St. The dog, both license plates, and the victim’s personal items were all missing.
