Pedestrian in fatal accident identified
emergency

The man killed while crossing N. Golden State Boulevard on Monday night has been identified as a Turlock resident.

Lennie Hanslovan, 52, died from injuries he sustained after being struck by a vehicle shortly before 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Hanslovan was walking westbound across North Golden State Boulevard in the 1100 block when he was struck by a 1994 Ford van.

The first officers at the scene found Hanslovan with major injuries and began emergency aid, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley. He was revived at the scene and taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the van was not injured and remained on scene and spoke with the Major Accident Investigation Team.

It does not appear drugs, alcohol or speed were factors in the collision, Parmley said.

The family of Hanslovan has started a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses. The account can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/f/mvag2a-funeral-services?utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer&utm_campaign=p_lico+share-sheet.
