A 16-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man were arrested Thursday on suspicion of prostitution and solicitation.
The teen girl was charged with prostitution, as well as providing false identification, resisting arrest and destroying evidence.
The incident began around 3:30 p.m. Thursday when a Turlock police officer on patrol noticed a vehicle parked at the vacant Turlock Subaru Imports auto business at 1901 Auto Mall Dr.
The couple in the vehicle was seen by the officer “groping” each other, according to the police report.
During the investigation an officer obtained the 16-year-old’s cell phone and found evidence of prostitution on it, police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Webb said. They also found cash.
When confronted with the cash and the evidence from the cell phone, the 25-year-old man, identified as Adam Lazaro, admitted to solicitation and was arrested on the misdemeanor charge, Webb said.
The teenager destroyed evidence when she pried the cell phone from an officer’s hand and broke it, Webb said.
