Esperanza Ledon Barragan passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at Cogir Memory Care of Turlock. She was 90 years old. Born in Acaponeta, Nayarit, Mexico, she settled in Brawley, California as a teenager, where she met and married Robert F. Barragan on July 4, 1954. The couple made their home in Turlock in 1959. She worked at Patterson Frozen Foods for 32 years, was a devout Catholic, a member of the YLI of Sacred Heart, and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 5059. She loved music, dancing, hosting, traveling, and her classic films and telenovelas.

She is survived by her children Luisa, Esperanza, Elizabeth, and Lionel (daughter–in–law Denise); sisters Julieta, Gloria, and Nelly (brother–in–law Rafael); eight grandchildren; three great–grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and comadres. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Barragan Sr.; son, Robert Barragan Jr.; grandmother, Mama Manuela; mother, Felicitas; and sister, Delia.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM on April 22 at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Hughson, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church or VFW Turlock.
