Turlock Police officers found evidence of a shooting and a gunshot victim on Saturday night, but an uncooperative victim and witnesses leave many questions unanswered about what actually happened at a Turlock apartment complex.

The sound of gunshots in an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Denair Avenue prompted multiple calls to law enforcement around 10:15 p.m. Saturday. According to police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis, when officers arrived they located evidence of shots fired and injuries, but no victims.

About 15 minutes later, the police department received a call that Emanuel Medical Center was treating a patient with a gunshot wound.

The patient, who was suffering from non-life threatening injuries, is believed to be a victim of the apartment shooting. According to Lewis, the victim was uncooperative with investigators. People at the scene of the apparent shooting were also unwilling to cooperate with the investigation, said Lewis.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Turlock Police Department at 668-5550.
