TPD

Two Turlock residents came home Friday to find a man rummaging through their belongings, the Turlock Police Department reported.

At midnight on Friday, the pair returned to their home in the 3100 block of Niagra Street to find a man going through their belongings.

The man ran from the home and the tenants contacted the police department to report the incident and provide a description of the burglar.

The homeowners did find that the suspect had gotten away with some of their possessions, said Turlock Police spokeswoman Dominique Sanchez.

Additional officers responded to the scene and located a person matching the description of the burglar in the area by Donnelly Park.

The individual was detained and the victims were brought out to the area for an in-field identification. Both stated the individual was the man that had broken into their home, Sanchez said.

The suspect was identified as Manuel Samano, 30, of Modesto. He was arrested for burglary and a parole hold.
