Robber hits Dollar General in Turlock

The Turlock Police Department is investigating a robbery at a discount store where the suspect forced open a register and fled with cash.

The robbery was reported at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Dollar General Store at 2641 Geer Road.

According to the police report, the suspect was in a checkout line and forced the register open when the clerk was trying to close it, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

No weapon was seen in the incident.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. A search of the area was conducted, but the suspect was not located.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s. He stands about 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet and weighs between 200 and 210 pounds. He was wearing black cargo shorts, a black baseball cap, and a gray sweatshirt.
