Robbers strike three times in one day

A string of robberies that took place within less than a hour’s time left some Turlock residents shaken and the police department searching for the armed suspects.
None of the victims were injured during the three encounters with the robbers, but the suspects were armed with at least one gun. All three robberies happened early Saturday morning and are believed to be the work of the same men, Turlock Police Lt. Jeff Lopes said.
The first robbery was reported at 5:58 a.m. Saturday at a Wells Fargo ATM at 440 E. Olive Ave.
A woman was using the ATM when two Hispanic men came around the corner and ran up to her. One of the suspects said, “Where’s the money?” and the victim took off running, leaving her ATM card behind.
The two men grabbed the card and were last seen running westbound on E. Main Street.
The victim told the police that one suspect possibly had a weapon. One suspect was wearing a black jacket and the second was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
About 20 minutes later the Turlock Police department received a second report of a robbery that bore similarities to the first.
In this case, a man said he was confronted by two Hispanic male adults in the parking lot at the 7-11 store at 445 Lander Ave. The victim said he was threatened with a gun and that the robbers took the keys to his delivery van, his house keys, and his iPhone.
The victim said one suspect was wearing a black jacket and the other had on an orange hooded sweatshirt.
The third robbery was reported at 6:49 a.m. at E. Hawkeye Avenue and Estates Drive. A man was out for a walk when he was confronted by several Hispanic men inside a silver van.
According to the police report, one of the men simulated like he had a gun and demanded the man’s money. When the victim said he had no money, the suspects fled.
The victim told the police officers that one suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and the other had on an orange hooded sweatshirt.
Given the similarities in the clothing and the pattern of the robberies, the police department believes they were all carried out by the same individuals.
Anyone with information regarding the robberies or the suspects is asked to call the Turlock Police Department at 668-5550 or Crime Stoppers at 521-3646. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
