Robbery at Turlock check cashing store

The Turlock Police Department is looking for the man who robbed a check cashing store at knifepoint Wednesday evening.

There were no injuries reported in the robbery, said Turlock Police spokesman Lt. Steve Webb.

The robbery was reported shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Check into Cash business at 1641 Lander Ave.

The suspect brandished a knife at an employee during the encounter and forced the employee to the back of the business, Webb said.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled out the back of the business.

The suspect was described as a man in his 30s with a dark complexion. He was wearing a white shirt and jeans and a white baseball cap.
