In an effort to bolster connections with the community and increase public safety, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department has released a new app for smartphones and tablets.

The app has many features including the ability to submit a tip on a crime, inform the public when there’s an emergency situation, and list where sex offenders live within the community. The app will also allow users to send us anonymous information on criminal activity or wanted persons. The app is not meant for an emergency situation.

“As an agency we want to continue to maximize our service to the community” said Sheriff Adam Christianson. “We know most everyone has a smart phone with them at all times, and we want them to have the ability to receive up-to-date information from us regarding criminal activity or public safety issues.”

The free app is app for both Andriod and iOS users. It can be downloaded at iOS: http://apple.co/1mAn3l3
