Six charged in shooting

The Turlock Police Department arrested six men Monday night on the suspicion they carried out a drive-by shooting earlier in the evening.

Around 9:46 p.m. the police department received a report of shots fired at an apartment in the 1300 block of Lambert Way. According to the police report, six men fired three to four shots and then fled in a white Blazer.

One witness told the officers that the men had been in the area of Lander and Linwood avenues earlier that night and that they had been “throwing gang signs” and harassing people.

A vehicle matching the description from the shooting was stopped at a convenience store at Lander and Linwood. Inside the vehicle officers found a .22-caliber revolver.

Arrested were: Raymond Vance, 18; Eddie Huesca, 19; Angel Hernandez, 20; Jorge Espindola, 22; Victor Garcia, 20; and Juan Zapata, 18. All six were charged with shooting into an inhabited dwelling and were booked into Stanislaus County Jail.
