An attempted stop of a car for a vehicle code infraction led to a pursuit, a recovery of a stolen vehicle and an arrest of two men.

Around 4:30 p.m. Thursday a Turlock Police officer attempted to stop a Honda for a vehicle code violation in the area of West Avenue South and Angelus Street.

The driver of the Honda failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.

The vehicle pursuit ended when the driver of the Honda crashed the car into two parked vehicles. The driver and a passenger then attempted to flee on foot, Rodrigues said.

The short foot pursuit ended with the two suspects being taken into custody.

During the course of the investigation officers determined the Honda had been stolen.

Billy Worden, 35, was identified as the driver. He was arrested for vehicle pursuit, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and hit and run.

Ajay Singh, 27, was arrested for resisting arrest and five outstanding warrants.
