Suspect in hunting garb tries to rob Quik Stop

The Turlock Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery that occurred early Wednesday at the Quik Stop at 1260 Geer Road.

The suspect entered the store around 1:15 a.m. with a shotgun that appeared to be fake, according to the clerk’s retelling to police officers.

The suspect demanded money and pointed the shotgun at the video surveillance camera, but left empty-handed according to the police report.

The suspect was described as a white male adult about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 170 pounds. He was described as wearing green gloves and pants, a light brown jacket, and a hunter’s cap that was described as looking like what cartoon character Elmer Fudd wore.

The suspect was last seen on a bicycle riding westbound on Twentieth Century Boulevard.
