A security guard trying to clear off a trespasser had his security vehicle stolen Thursday night, the Turlock Police Department reported.
The theft happened just before 11:30 p.m. at Fulkerth Road and Shetland.
The suspect had started a small warming fire in a flower bed when he was discovered by the security guard, who told him to leave the premises. The suspect refused.
The security guard went to get a fire extinguisher and was putting out the fire when the suspect got into the security vehicle - a brown Chevrolet Malibu - and drove away.
Officers checked the area but were not able to locate the suspect or the vehicle.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult, 5 feet, 10 inches in height, 180 pounds, with black hair and a mustache.
The vehicle has security marking on the sides of the vehicle and had a yellow light on the roof.
