A Turlock man was arrested for multiple sexual assault related charges after he allegedly raped a woman he had met on a dating website.
The suspect was identified by the Turlock Police Department as 38-year-old William Austin. He was arrested on suspicion of rape, oral copulation and penetration with a foreign object.
The woman reported the alleged assault to the police department around 9 p.m. June 3, after she had been driven home by an acquaintance of the suspect, according to the police department.
The woman told investigators she met Austin about a month prior through the website Plenty of Fish. The meeting on June 3 was the first time the two had met in person, said Turlock Police spokesperson Steve Rodrigues.
Austin allegedly picked her up and told her he had to check up on something at a warehouse in the 500 block of W. F Street. The woman reported that the alleged attack happened at the warehouse.
No weapons were mentioned in the police report.
Investigators said there were other people present at the warehouse, but are trying to ascertain if they were aware of what was transpiring.
There have been no charges filed yet by the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office.
