Turlock man charged with possession of child pornography
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children

The Turlock Police Department has arrested a 22-year-old man on charges of child pornography possession after getting a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Fernando Rodriguez, 22, of Turlock was taken into custody on Tuesday on suspicion of possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. The charge also has an enhancement that alleges more than 10 of the images were of children under the age of 12.

Rodriguez was arrested without incident at his home in the 2300 block of George Way.

The investigation into Rodriguez began in May after the police department was notified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that someone in Turlock was downloading or uploading sexual images of children.

A search warrant helped investigators pinpoint the location and then led to the seizure of a computer and two cell phones. According to the police department, more than 3,000 sexually explicit images of children were found.

Rodriguez remains in custody at the Stanislaus County Jail in lieu of a $75,000 bail.
