Two arrested in drive-by shooting

Two men are facing attempted murder charges after allegedly shooting at a man as he walked along a Turlock street Tuesday morning.

The 22-year-old victim was not wounded in the drive-by shooting reported shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim told Turlock Police detectives he was walking in the area of Columbia Avenue and S. Orange Street when a vehicle pulled up alongside him and an occupant fired a gun at him.

The victim gave a description of the vehicle and it was stopped a short time later by police officers.

In the vehicle officers found a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun.

The two men in the car, Ricardo Ramos, 18, and Jonathan Lugo, 22, were booked into Stanislaus County Jail on attempted homicide charges. Ramos has a $450,000 bail and a court date set for Jan. 15. Lugo has a $275,500 bail and a court appearance on Tuesday.
