A couple is likely re-evaluating their friendship with two Turlock residents after they stole their car at gunpoint in a shopping center parking lot.

The carjacking was reported to a Turlock Police officer just after 11:30 p.m. Monday in the 2100 block of Fulkerth Road.

The officer was at the shopping center for an unrelated call when he was approached by a security guard who said a man and woman had just been robbed at gunpoint.

The man and woman said they were meeting two acquaintances in the parking lot. They identified their acquaintances as Garrett Anderson, 30, of Turlock and Tasha Argo, 37, of Turlock.

Anderson allegedly pulled out a firearm and ordered the couple out of their vehicle. He then got in their vehicle and drove off with Argo following in the vehicle they had arrived in, said Turlock Police spokesperson Sgt. Mike Parmley.

The victims told the officers the pair would likely be found in the 1300 block of W. Main Street, which is where officers did indeed locate them.

“Anderson and Argo were located and arrested after an in-field show up was conducted and they were identified as the responsible in this crime,” Parmley said.

The stolen vehicle was recovered along with a firearm.
