Two years for grand theft

A Denair man was given a two year prison sentence for his theft of a generator.
Roberto Torres, 27, was found guilty of grand theft on Wednesday, according to the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office.
According to the prosecution, Torres stole a “bait” generator being tracked by members of the Stanislaus Country Sheriff’s Department that had been placed at a construction site. Torres was apprehended minutes after the  theft.    
Upon the entry of the guilty plea, Stanislaus County Superior Court Judge Thomas Zeff sentenced Torres to two years in state prison.
