Pitman High School will lose its original principal next month as Rod Hollars is slated to move from the high school campus to the Turlock Unified School District office, where he will assume his new position as Director of Human Resources.

This was just one administrative organizational change introduced by Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Dana Salles Trevethan, who is set to assume her new role as Interim Superintendent on July 1.

“One of the advantages of having you on as interim and appointing you as the successor to Dr. Da Marto is that you’ve been able to assess in the last six to eight weeks the needs for change,” said Board of Trustees President Frank Lima to Trevethan on Tuesday.

“I am very excited about these changes and I am really looking forward to the next few years in our District,” continued Lima.

According to Trevethan, these administrative adjustments will both “encourage and build leadership capacity in several individuals” and she reported that all affected individuals have expressed their support with these changes that go into effect on July 1.

“Conversations have happened with every individual and I can guarantee that every individual is extremely excited about this opportunity and they are looking forward to it,” said Trevethan.

Resulting from Hollars’ move to Director of Human Resources, current Assistant Principal at Pitman High School Amy Curd will shift to Interim Principal at Pitman High School. She will be replaced by Assistant Principal at Turlock Junior High School Sumeet Singh, who will advance as Interim Assistant Principal at the high school site.

Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Heidi Lawler will fill in Trevethan’s current position as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. Director of Human Resources Jason Maggard will advance to Lawler’s position as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

Director of Assessment and Accountability Laurie Harrington will proceed to TJHS, where she will fill in Singh’s position as Interim Assistant Principal. According to Trevethan, Harrington’s position as Director of Assessment and Accountability is the only position that the District has left to fill.

During her transition, Trevethan also reported that she will be accompanied by current Administrative Assistant of Educational Services Cherylnn Ferrel, who will assume the position of Administrative Assistant and Receptionist of the Superintendent’s Office.

As a result, current Administrative Assistant and Receptionist of the Superintendent’s Office Connie Cusenza will move to fill in Ferrel’s role as Administrative Assistant of Educational Services under Lawler.

“I fully support you as Superintendent and as a new leader of Turlock Unified School District,” said Trustee Harinder Grewal to Trevethan. “This is going to help you move the District in the right direction.”
