The Modesto Nuts, the Single-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, have announced that they will be awarding a pair of scholarships to local students this year as part of a new partnership with Valley First Credit Union.

Tabbed as the 2023 Modesto Nuts Futures Scholarship, students graduating high school, currently enrolled in college or other post-high school educational programs, or adults looking for a career change have an opportunity to be one of two $500 scholarship recipients.

“We want to support LOCAL residents of the Central Valley,” said Nuts general manager Veronica Hernandez. “Both Valley First Credit Union and the Modesto Nuts want to support local dreamers reach their goals.”

Applicants are asked to provide a power point slideshow of at least three slides explaining what their plan is for the future and how the scholarship could support their endeavors.
