The 2nd annual Walnut Energy Faire was held Saturday. Organizer and teacher Bret Sutterley praised the Turlock Irrigation District and the City of Turlock for teaming up with Walnut to offer the experience.

“This year we had a lot more vendors. The whole idea is to get students excited and think about green energy sources and the alternative ways of getting energy,” said Sutterley. Attendees had the opportunity to see how wind can be harnessed for energy, the power of the sun in energy production and even tasty treats like “solar hot dogs.”
