JULY
During the month of July, Pitman FFA had many people showing animals at the fair. In the swine barn, Pitman FFA did incredible as they placed first through fourth place in market. In first place, was Carter Vannest, followed by Kiley Deckard in second, in third place was Angelo Machado, and in fourth place was Chrys Kamesch and Hayden Koenig in their respective categories. In the goat barn, Pitman FFA had Emily Perez placing fifth overall in market class and 10th overall for advanced showmanship. Also, Emma Lourenco placed fifth overall in intermediate showmanship.
In the sheep category, Brianna Garcia got Reserve Champion market lamb and also got eighth overall in intermediate showmanship. Neveah Russo got 2nd in market class; Victoria White got second overall in intermediate showmanship and third in market class; and Allyson Siebert got third overall in intermediate showmanship and third in market class. In the Steer category, Pitman FFA had Hannah Loforti place first overall in advanced showmanship, first overall in market class, and fourth in large animal master showmanship. Carter Vannest placed fourth overall in market class and Chloe Gonzales placed fourth overall in novice showmanship, and fourth overall in market class.
In the dairy category, Pitman FFA had two people compete: Mia Capigli, who placed third overall in the registered winter calf show, and Oliviah Cunha, who placed fourth overall in the spring yearling show. In the turkeys category, Pitman FFA had three people show turkeys. Jesiah Vasquez placed second in market class, Angelo Machado placed third overall in market class and Ovliah Cunha placed fourth overall in market class. In the chicken category, Pitman FFA had two participants — Elexi Pullido, who placed first overall in novice showmanship and Ryder Munoz, who placed fifth overall in novice showmanship.
In rabbits, Alli Vickroy placed first overall in breeding rabbits. In mechanics and arts, Pitman FFA had over 50 members enter their projects into the fair for mechanics and art competitions pacing from first to third place. Congrats to Vickroy for placing first in art and Pulido for placing both second and third in art. Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year's fair.
AUGUST
In the month following the fair, Pitman FFA held its school supply drive which lasted from Aug. 16-30. The club got hundreds of items donated in school supplies for this upcoming school year. Thank you to all who donated school supplies this year. On Aug. 15, Pitman FFA had its first chapter meeting with an ice cream social. Congrats to the 2024 hotdog eating competition winner, Andrew Skokan. After the ice cream social the club had its tri-tip ticket sales from Aug. 19-30, with over 800 tickets sold! On Aug. 29, Pitman FFA had six students help wrap tri-tip sandwiches at Brown elementary. On Aug. 30, 20 students helped serve food at the Hopton Festa. Thank you for everyone who donated/helped out in the month of August.
