Sacred Heart Preschoolers to present 'An Afternoon with Picasso'

Nearly 200 aspiring young models will hit the catwalk today for the 8th annual Sacred Heart Preschool Fashion Show and Tea.  The sold out event will house nearly 300 people in the school’s gymnasium and feature a light lunch and tea, live and silent auctions and raffle of over 20 items.

“This fashion show is one of my favorites,” said Debbie Cannella, founder of Sacred Heart Preschool.  “Having a fundraiser where children are involved can make a difference.  Each year this event has grown due to parents, students and alumni participation.”

This year’s theme, "An Afternoon with Picasso," will see the children clad in bright colors.  Each preschooler and alumni model who walks the runway will be wearing a painters’ smock designed by them.  A new addition to this year’s event will be a photo booth for kids and families to enjoy.

“Our photo booth will be plenty of fun,” said Cannella.  “We will have different accessories to put on and they can have their pictures taken as much as they want.”

Proceeds of the event will help purchase school supplies and offset the cost of the student nutrition program.

“Without the many volunteers, co-chairs Lizzie Volk and Angela Watson, and the dedication and love for our preschool, this event would not be possible,” Cannella said.
