STREAM Academy to be held at Stanislaus State

The Department of Mathematics Grants at Stanislaus State is once again providing an opportunity for local students to enhance their academic skills with its HiMAP 6.0 STREAM Academy. The STREAM academy is an academic program designed to enhance cognitive, reasoning and critical thinking skills for students in a number of areas, including science, technology, reading and writing, engineering, agriculture and mathematics. “Now that students are back in school, parents are looking for help with Common Core math homework, doing book reports...we are ready to embrace them all,” said Director of Mathematics Grants Viji Sundar.

Stanislaus State’s Academic Senate voted in favor of a bill that would require students enrolled in all 23 California State University campuses to take one 3-credit unit of any qualifying Ethnic Studies course before they graduate (Journal file photo).
